From a  reader:

Dear Kathie,
Thank you for your newsletter.   I get a lot of tips and information from this, and can pass on to my colleagues.   Well done.
Thank you and regards,

Carol

This is the time of year when people begin to look toward the future, the New Year and wonder what's in store for them.  Will the next year be like this one and others gone by?  Will it be something new, different and exciting?  What will be in store for each and every one of us?

A year gone by……………

I'm sure this year has finished with things you hadn't planned on, good or bad.  I hope that they were mainly good.  In addition, it's possible your direction may have changed and you're following a different path.  I know I am.  A role I took on almost two years ago is drawing to a close, although I had anticipated originally it might last much longer.  However, I'm happy with the general direction things have taken and have experienced surprise at some of the other things that have occurred.  I like surprises – don’t you?

I'm sure that some of our team experienced surprises this year when they won a number of awards individually for their particular expertise.  I am so proud to be working with them and am encouraged by their keenness for the work they’re doing and the things they continue to succeed in.  I won’t list all their names here as I’m sure to miss someone but please do visit our site for regular announcements of this nature – the Exposure page is a good one to visit as that lists all media releases and articles that have been published.  Whilst on this topic, I wish to thank those clients who supported me personally in the recent 2003 Achiever of the Year Awards process.  I didn’t win, but did receive a High Commendation with a rating of 95.44% - the highest rating I’ve received in the 3 years I’ve been nominated.

In planning for your coming new year, make sure you set some time aside for yourself.  Time for peace and quiet, reflection that's needed.  Time with family and friends.  Don't be afraid to schedule it into your diary - it might be the only way you make sure it happens, or find a business or personal coach that can assist you with this – I know some if you need pointing in the right direction.

Plan to make time for personal and professional development for this coming year.  Plan to meet your peers at business events and speak to the speakers and presenters, and learn new things, or update current information. The website What’s on in Town.com  is designed to help you find the business networking forums suitable for you.  This site now has begun to cater for other capital cities in Australia – and not just Melbourne.  For those in the Office Professional arena, plan also to attend the National Office Professionals Day Breakfast in whatever state or country you’re in - it's already in the planning here in Australia and the date is Friday 7th May.

Lastly, I hope you're planning to have a great Christmas with your family and friends.  If, for whatever reason, you find yourself alone perhaps there is someone you can find to share this time with.  I love this time of year and I love being with my family, but we have often had others come share with us too – those who find themselves in a different state to family or close friends.  It is a time for sharing and caring.

Web links can be found at our site under Business PartnersIf you are interested in accepting credit cards for payment from your clients, without the cost of setting up bank merchant accounts – please check out the information under Stratapay.  Not only will you be able to accept payments by credit card, but also through BPay, Australia Post Billpay, Direct Debit and a number of other options.  This is a new service now being made available to small businesses – so we can provide the same facilities as big business.

Visit Seminars to see what is currently on offer. Testimonials under Case Studies (if you’d like to contribute a testimonial your contact details and weblink may be included).  List of new ACS members at VA Directory.  And click here for my own current rates.

Please note that these rates do not apply to the team members of "A Clayton's Secretary" - each member works with their own rates, depending on their geographical location, experience and skill.

Have a great month and a great year!

Kathie
