Profile Directions

This Profile is used for referring our callers to the secretary or virtual assistant most compatible to the caller’s needs. The profile is also used for the "Call List" which will be updated regularly and entered on the web pages of ‘A Clayton’s Secretary’. We cannot start referring prospective clients to you until this form has been returned.  Your resume is not given out to clients at all - it's kept here for our reference only.

Australian Business Number (ABN): We are not in a position to advise you about the need for an ABN - this needs to come from your Accountant or the ATO.  If you are running a business you should have an Accountant you can refer to for financial and taxation advise but if you don't, this will not stop you from being registered with our team, we just cannot give you advice in that regard.

Business Name: This is not necessary but if you have a registered business name, we’d like to know what it is. You can choose purely to use your personal name for a business name or leave that field blank.

Business Address: This is where you operate your business and is for our use only. If you prefer to use a mailing address instead, then that is fine. We recommend that you only give your address out to clients on the phone after you’ve established that their need is genuine and you feel comfortable. Or you may wish to consider arranging a pickup and delivery service for all new customers until you have gotten to know them.

Telephone: Give us the telephone number you wish for us to list on our site for prospective clients.

Hours Available: This is to give us an indication of your available hours. Most new virtual assistants in business at home like to be available seven days a week inside and out of business hours, until they’ve built up sufficient work to be more choosy about their hours. This will not restrict our referring clients to you however. If you are working a regular job still, it would be a good idea to ensure you have an answering machine to take messages and appointments. It is recommended (for safety's sake) that you don’t say you’re not home, but rather that you are away from the phone or attending a client at that particular moment.

Computers Used: Some clients have a preference as to which computer system is used as they would like to take disks with them of the completed work to use on their own computers.

Additional Skills: Tell us as much as possible about your skills and the services you have to offer. The more we know about your services, the more we are able to refer clients to you. You may use separate sheets of paper if you wish. In fact, you may send in your resume and we will put this on record, to fax to prospective clients (on your approval).

Memberships: List any professional organisations you are a member of. This will serve two purposes. 
1. We will try not to send you information you already have. 2. You may list an organisation we weren’t aware of.
